Shopify return process and updating account balance


Q: What happens if a customer returns an item?
A: If an item is returned then it shows back up in the quantity for the item and the Item will go back to live if it was the only quantity.

Q: How will it affect the affected consignor's payout?
A: The disbursement will be removed from the payout or reduced by the quantity to have the correct amount.  But with a return in shopify you must restock to ensure it works properly.  If the store just cancels the order or does a return without the restock it will not update Aravenda because the system will not know that a return has happened. 

Q: Is it the same thing if the return happened after we have paid out the consignor?
A: No, it will not automatically update the consignor balance. You will need to add the credit manually back to their account. To avoid this scenario, we recommend doing payouts only after more than 15 days from sale to avoid the possibility of a return.
